The Heart of My Work
I am on a mission to help people find balance with food and life, free from fear, guilt, and perfectionism, by guiding them toward a relationship with food that feels flexible, sustainable, and freeing.
Meet The Dietitian
Kim Pierson | MS, RD, LDN
Restoration Dietitian was founded from a deep understanding of what it feels like to live in conflict with food and body image. After years of navigating her own struggles with eating disorders, Kim discovered that real change begins not with the simple, steady act of nourishing the body. As she learned to move away from restriction and toward compassion, she found a sense of freedom she never thought was possible, and felt called to help others find that same ease and clarity.
Kim’s journey into nutrition began with a desire to understand the emotional and physical layers of her own healing. That path led her back to school, where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Dietetics followed by a Master of Science in Nutrition from Lipscomb University. During her training, she saw firsthand that transformation isn’t just about knowing what to eat. It’s about rebuilding trust, developing consistency, and learning to listen to the body with patience and kindness.
Today, Restoration Dietitian is a space rooted in healing, growth, and restoration. Kim works with individuals who feel stuck in cycles of binge eating, emotional eating, chronic dieting, or hormonal shifts that make eating feel overwhelming. Her approach blends evidence-based care with a warm, supportive presence, helping clients move from confusion and guilt to balance and confidence.
Grounded in compassion and genuine connection, Kim empowers each client to build supportive routines, honor their needs, and experience food as a source of nourishment, comfort, and joy. Her mission is simple: to walk with you, step by gentle step, as you restore your relationship with food and your body.

My Approach
Kim’s education and training provided a strong foundation in medical nutrition therapy, counseling skills, and evidence-based care, but the experiences that shaped her most came from working closely with individuals whose relationship with food felt complicated, heavy, or confusing.
During her dietetic internship, Kim moved through clinical, community, and counseling-focused rotations, supporting people with a wide range of nutrition needs. But it was her eating disorder rotation that changed everything. From the very first day, she noticed something different. She found herself looking forward to each session, eager to understand the deeper layers of what people were carrying. The stories she heard were not just about food. They were about emotion, identity, daily stress, and years of trying to feel in control while carrying more than anyone around them realized.
This is where Kim began to understand the heart of her calling. She realized that true transformation does not happen through rigid meal plans or information alone. It happens when someone feels understood, supported, and encouraged to explore their patterns with gentleness. She saw how healing unfolds when people feel steady and safe enough to be honest about what they are experiencing. She also felt a deep passion rise in her, a sense of purpose and clarity that she had found the work she was called to do.
Throughout her graduate program, Kim continued studying the emotional, hormonal, and behavioral factors that influence eating patterns. She learned how to blend nutrition science with a therapeutic and individualized style that brings clarity without overwhelm. As her training progressed, her expertise began to take shape. She recognized the need for a practice that offered professional guidance paired with a caring presence. A place where clients could learn, heal, and restore trust in themselves at a pace that felt supportive.
This vision became the foundation of her private practice. Kim opened Restoration Dietitian to create a space where people experiencing binge eating, emotional eating, chronic dieting, or food-related stress could find understanding and direction. A place where sessions feel encouraging, grounded, and centered on the whole person.
Today, Kim’s approach is intentional and restorative. She helps clients develop consistent routines, recognize what influences their eating, and experience food as something nourishing rather than overwhelming. These experiences, combined with her passion for eating disorder work, continue to guide the foundation of Restoration Dietitian, a space where healing and growth can take root in meaningful and lasting ways.

The Values That Guide My Work
Well-Being
My work centers on nurturing both body and mind, guiding clients toward balance, peace, and strength through integrative, sustainable practices that encompass their whole selves.
Compassion
I lead with empathy, meeting each person where they are and creating a supportive, judgment-free space where growth feels safe, achievable, and deeply personal.
Excellence
I am dedicated to delivering care that exceeds expectations, blending clinical expertise and genuine presence to create a space where transformation feels truly meaningful.
Policy Advocacy
My work extends beyond one-on-one counseling.
It’s also about restoring nourishment in the systems that shape how we eat. I believe everyone deserves access to real, wholesome food, and that starts with thoughtful policies that value nourishment over convenience.
As a dietitian, I care deeply about supporting initiatives that bring whole foods back to the table and protect the farmland that sustains them. This includes advocating for nutrition policies that connect local farms with families, promote whole milk in schools, and preserve small, sustainable agriculture for generations to come. Through community partnerships and continued advocacy, I hope to help restore nourishment not only in daily practice, but throughout the broader food landscape that feeds us all.
